Sackman hails grant for Finchley arts centre

Artsdepot has received £25,000 to fund refurbishment works with support from the MP

The MP for Finchley and Golders Green has celebrated a £25,000 grant that will enable a Finchley arts centre to carry out “urgent repairs and refurbishment”.

Sarah Sackman has been a long-term supporter of Artsdepot in North Finchley and helped it to secure a long-term lease at a peppercorn rent last year.

Now she has supported the organisation in its successful application for a grant from the Christos Lazari Foundation to fund improvements to the building.

Sackman said: “Artsdepot is central to Barnet’s arts and culture offer. Every year, it brings people together through world-class performances, community events and opportunities for young people to engage with the arts.”

She added: “I’m delighted to have supported Artsdepot in securing this £25,000 grant from the Christos Lazari Foundation. This funding will help ensure the building remains fit for the future and can continue serving residents across our community.”

Monique Deletant, CEO of Artsdepot, said: “We are so grateful for Sarah’s support in helping us get a grant from the Christos Lazari Foundation.

“Artsdepot is a thriving cultural charity and our space needs urgent repairs and refurbishment to help us provide the service that Barnet’s residents deserve. We could not have accessed these funds without Sarah and we look forward to welcoming her to show of the changes to the building that this money will help us make.”
