Incredible Edible will celebrate the brilliance of beans in New Barnet on 10th October

There’s more to life than baked beans! Come along to Incredible Edible Barnet’s free community autumn event on Saturday 10 October from 4pm to 6pm celebrating beans (and other pulses) and the delicious things you can do with them.

Taking place during Barnet Climate Action Week, Cool Beans! is a chance to discover why beans are, well, cool!

Beans have been a staple in diets around the world for thousands of years, but their popularity has fluctuated over time. Over the last few years, they seem to be getting the attention they deserve for their versatility, health and environmental benefits, with some great campaigns spreading the legumey love.

There’ll be plenty to see, taste and try to get your taste buds tingling. Activities on offer will include a cooking demonstration, bean-based dishes and cakes to try, recipe ideas, sowing broad beans to grow at home, activity sheets for kids, games for all ages and lots of inspiration for adding more beans and pulses to everyday meals.

Whether you’re already a bean enthusiast, looking for inexpensive meal ideas, or not yet convinced that beans are for you, come along and see just how versatile, and tasty, they can be.

Food tastings and seeds are first come, first served, so come early if you’re keen to try them.
