More than 30 productions across theatre, dance, circus, comedy, music, magic and family entertainment come to North Finchley over the next few months
Artsdepot is set for a busy end of the year, bringing together a mix of live performances, immersive experiences, touring productions and family favourites.
The programme at the North Finchley venue gets underway with Hofesh Shechter’s In the Brain, performed by Shechter II on 9th and 10th September, followed by Ockham’s Razor: Collaborator on 7th October. The latter combines theatre and circus in a production that explores collaboration and physical storytelling.
On 15th October, Artsdepot will host the London premiere of The Land We Shared, an international production by acclaimed artist Larisa Faber. Described as a “semi-autobiographical” and “multigenerational puzzle”, the production combines documentary theatre with live music.
November kicks off with Samuel Beckett’s Krapp’s Last Tape on the 5th, directed by Academy Award nominee Stockard Channing and starring David Westhead.
LIT/UP – Lighthouse will set the tone on 21st and 22nd November, created by musician and composer Jez Colborne and produced by Mind the Gap, the immersive production combines theatre, dance and music.
Younger audiences are also well catered for, with a season of music, dance and interactive performances.
Rabbit & Rey and The Lost Things arrives on 20th September, bringing a puppetry-filled adventure from the makers of The Gingerbread Man.
Children can then see Dermot O’Leary’s bestselling book Toto the Ninja Cat and the Great Snake Escape brought to life on stage from 2nd–4th October, while Rod Campbell’s much-loved Dear Zoo returns on 23rd October with puppetry, music and audience interaction.
For something more experimental, Club Origami on 25th October invites children to explore dance, live music and imaginative play through the art of paper folding.
And for families who like their entertainment energetic, LIT/UP: Big Beat Playground – Flying High promises music, dancing, confetti and inflatables on 22nd November.
The festive season then gets underway with Baby Broadway Christmas, featuring West End singers performing songs from much-loved musicals and Christmas films including Elf, Frozen, White Christmas and The Snowman.
The season also offers plenty for adult audiences, with comedy, jazz and magic among the highlights.
Comedy duo Scummy Mummies return to Artsdepot with Hot Mess on 22nd October, bringing stand-up, sketches and songs to the Pentland Theatre. The adults-only show is suitable for audiences aged 18 and over.
Meanwhile, the Studio Theatre will host Hop Skotshne Klezmer Band on the same evening, offering energetic interpretations of traditional Eastern European Jewish wedding music.
Magic meets science in Kevin Quantum: Anti-Gravity on 27th October, as the Magic Circle member and magician-scientist explores impossible levitations and mind-bending illusions for audiences aged eight and over.
Jazz fans can discover the story behind one of London’s most famous music venues in Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club presents The Ronnie Scott’s Story on 28th October. Performed by The Ronnie Scott’s All Stars, the show combines live music, narration and archive footage.
Then, on 7th November, multi-award-winning impressionist Jess Robinson brings Elton Reimagined to the Studio Theatre, reinterpreting Elton John’s greatest hits through the voices of legendary female performers.
The Christmas programme officially begins with The Christmas Goblin on 6th December, a new family musical from Crescendorious inspired by the ancient Greek myth of the Kallikantzaroi.
From 8th December to 3rd January, the Pentland Theatre will host the first London run of Aliens Love Panta Claus, a new festive production based on Claire Freedman and Ben Cort’s popular picture book.
Families can also enjoy Rapunzel from 12th–24th December, a new adaptation of Bethan Woollvin’s award-winning picture book presented by family theatre company Wrongsemble.
For those looking for festive music, Jazz Noël – A Swinging Christmas Show comes to the Studio Theatre on 19th December, blending Christmas classics with jazz arrangements and live vocals.
The year ends with the return of The Nutcracker from 29th December to 3rd January, performed by the award-winning Let’s All Dance Ballet Company.
And the family programme continues into 2027 with Adventures in Hundred Acre Wood: The Musical, arriving at the Pentland Theatre from 17th–21st February 2027. Inspired by A. A. Milne’s timeless stories, the production celebrates friendship, imagination and the enduring appeal of Winnie-the-Pooh and his friends.
