Barnet MPs remain in government

Sarah Sackman keeps her job at the Ministry of Justice, while Dan Tomlinson stays on in the Treasury while also taking on a new role in the Cabinet Office

Two Barnet MPs have retained their roles in government following the arrival of the new prime minister this week.

Andy Burnham replaced Keir Starmer in the top job on Monday and proceeded to shake up his ministerial line up with new appointments to many key positions.

However, there was relatively little change for Finchley and Golders Green MP Sarah Sackman and Chipping Barnet MP Dan Tomlinson.

Sackman, who first became a minister shortly after her election in July 2024 as solicitor general, continues in the role of minister for courts and legal services, which she has held since December 2024.

Tomlinson, who became exchequer secretary to the Treasury in September 2025, keeps that role but also has a new role as growth minister, which is based in both the Treasury and the Cabinet Office.
