Firefighters used a turntable ladder to help tackle a fire in some Finchley flats yesterday.

London Fire Brigade says the 32-metre ladder was used as an observation tower as firefighters tackled the blaze at the semi-detached house converted into two flats in Park View Road.

Firefighters were called soon after 2.30pm and the fire was under control shortly before 4pm.

A loft and part of the roof of the building were damaged by the fire and there were no reported injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by both London Fire Brigade and the Metropolitan Police.
