St Mary-at-Finchley will be celebrating National Lottery Open Week 2026 from Saturday 7th March to Sunday 15th March 2026 with a fantastic programme of free-of-charge events:

HERITAGE TOURS Discover the rich history of our Grade II* listed church —the oldest building in Finchley — and its churchyard, home to seven Grade II listed monuments. Multiple dates and times available.

CHORAL EVENSONG Join us after the 2pm church tour on Sunday 8th March at 4pm to hear music by Ivor Richards, former organist at St Mary-at-Finchley, and organ scholar Macie Sutherland, directed by Alison Smart Fisher.

HEALTHY HERITAGE WALK Join us after the 10am tour for a 5-mile circular walk on Friday 13th March at 2.00pm, exploring local history and green spaces, followed by drinks and nibbles at 4.30pm

HISTORIC SUNDIAL VIEWINGS Enjoy a rare opportunity to see our famous sundial, featured on BBC Antiques Roadshow and in a 1793/94 painting byJ.M.W. Turner.

COMMUNITY GARDENING EVENT on Saturday 14th March from 10am until 12 noon, followed by a tour at 2pm and a concert at 6pm.

GILBERT & SULLIVAN EVENING on Saturday 14 March at 6pm with Yukiko Osedo (piano). Carl Gombrich (baritone), Samantha Rowe (soprano) and Will Searle (tenor) performing extracts from your favourite operettas.
