Drivers in and around Barnet will have four National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And one of them is expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing a wait of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that four closures are due to start over the next two weeks:

• M1, from 11pm 9th January to 6am 10th January, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 2 to junction 1, Lane closures for Urgent Pothole repairs.

• M1, from 10pm 12th January to 6am 17th January, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 2 to junction 1, Lane closure for parapet works.

• A1, from 10pm 19th January to 6am 7th February, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 2 to A1 southbound, junction Five Ways, slip road and lane closure for inspections work, diversion via local authority and National Highway network.

• M1, from 10pm 19th January to 6am 24th January, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 to junction 2, Lane closure for parapet works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
