Cat rescued from Edgware flat fire

The cat at the Church Way blaze on Monday was taken to an animal shelter

A cat was rescued from a fire in an Edgware flat on Monday evening.

25 firefighters and four fire engines were called to the blaze on Church Way shortly after 9.30pm on Monday 8th September.

A cat was rescued from a fourth floor flat in a five storey block and treated at the scene before being taken to an animal shelter.

Part of the flat was destroyed by the fire, which was under control by 11.15pm.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
