Four houses suffered major damage in a fire in Burnt Oak yesterday afternoon.

Ten fire engines and 70 firefighters tackled the blaze on Silkstream Road with a 32-metre turntable ladder used to tackle the fire from above.

The roof, first floor and ground floor areas of four terraced houses were damaged along with the part of the roof of a fifth house.

Firefighters were called to the scene shortly after 4pm and the fire was under control two hours later.

Three people were treated at the scene by London Ambulance Service.

The cause of the fire has been recorded as undetermined.
