Barnet’s motorists will have three road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And two of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing holdups of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• M1, from 10pm 30th June to 6am 26th July, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 2, Lane closure for Concrete investigations, diversion via Local Authorities.

And a further two closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• M1, from 10pm 22nd July to 5.30am 24th July, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 5 to junction 1, slip road and carriageway closure for joint investigations, diversion via National Highways roads.

• M1, from 10pm 28th July 28 to 5.30am 9th August, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 2 to junction 3, Lane closures for barrier works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
