Drivers in and around Barnet will have three National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And two of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing holdups of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures are due to start over the next two weeks:

• A1, from 10pm December 9th to 5am December 10th, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A1(M) northbound, junction 1 to junction 3, carriageway closure, entry slip road closure and lane closures for maintenance works, diversion Via National Highways and local authority roads.

• M1, from 10pm December 16th to 5am December 19th, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction London Gateway Services to junction 5, Lane closures for Safety fence repairs.

• M1, from 10pm December 19th to 5.30am December 20th, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 6 to junction 1, Lane, slip road and carriageway closure for road marking works, diversion via Local Authorities.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
