Some residents had asked Barnet Council for help controlling parking in their streets, reports Grace Howarth, Local Democracy Reporter
Barnet residents have two more weeks to propose changes to the existing Golders Green Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ).
The consultation will allow residents and businesses to provide feedback on the “current operational days and times” on the CPZ in their area.
The CPZ stretches from Golders Green to Childs Hill, however a council map showed residents in both areas, and additionally residents in the Hampstead Garden Suburb, to the east of Golders Green, and in Cricklewood to the south, have requested a CPZ.
Some residents in St George’s Road in Golders Green have requested an extension to the time.
The existing CPZ, which was first introduced in 1997, operates from Monday to Friday between 11am and 12pm on the west side, and 10am until 5pm on the east side.
Residents on St George’s Road wanted an extension to Saturday and Sunday between 6pm and 8pm on their road.
Residents have until Sunday, 13th October to complete a questionnaire so Barnet Council can “determine the extent of the parking pressures being experienced”.
Feedback could see new roads get a CPZ and current ones a change in operation times.
The council said it will publish results and how it will act on them in December.
