Barnet Council is seeking the views of those who look after a child full-time because their parents are not able to care for them

Kinship carers in Barnet have until Sunday 22nd September to share their views with Barnet Council as the council updates its kinship care policy.
Kinship care is when a child lives full-time or most of the time with a relative or close family friend, usually because their parents are not able to care for them. In the UK, there are more than 180,000 children in kinship care. According to the 2021 census, there are over 700 kinship carers in Barnet.
Kinship carers in Barnet can take part in the consultation and make their views known up to Sunday 22nd September 2024. The council will use the engagement findings to inform a new Kinship Care Policy and service practice.
