New girls cricket team Mill Hill Finches has announced its winter training schedule.

Mill Hill Finches is a new cricket team for girls that successfully launched earlier this year and is a partnership between Mill Hill Village Cricket Club and Finchley Cricket Club.

Training sessions, aimed at girls of all abilities aged 5-16, begin on 3rd November and take place at the Middlesex County Cricket Club’s Indoor Cricket School in Finchley.

Training will be led by experienced coach Anisha Dissanayake (Middlesex women’s team/Sunrisers) with an emphasis on developing skills through fun activities and a welcoming team culture.

Dissanayake said: “The girls’ enjoyment and happiness is at the heart of everything we do. This partnership has allowed girls at Mill Hill Village and girls at Finchley to come together and share their love for the game. Coaching will be led by myself and other England and Wales Cricket Board-qualified coaches, with years of coaching experience.”

Training sessions will be held on Sundays from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The scheduled dates are as follows:

  • November: 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th
  • December: 1st, 8th, 15th
  • January: 12th, 19th, 26th
  • February: 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd
  • March: 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th

A total of 19 training sessions will be offered throughout the winter.

The cost is £8 per hour, with a total fee of £304 for all sessions, with fees covering the cost of venue hire and coaching.

In spring/summer 2025, girls will have the opportunity to play matches.

Places can be booked via the Finchley CC website.

Any queries should be addressed to Mill Hill Finches coach Anisha Dissanayake via email at  [email protected] or call 07538 369016.
