Drivers in and around Barnet will have three National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And two of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing holdups of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• A1, from 10.30pm September 1 to 5am October 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1 southbound, junction M25 to junction Borehamwood, Lane closure for Urgent TFL structural maintenance.

And a further two closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• A1, from 10pm September 16 to 5am September 18, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 southbound, junction London Gateway Services to junction 2, Lane and carriageway closure for Urgent safety fence repairs, diversion via Local Authorities roads.

• A1, from 10pm September 30 to 5am October 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 to junction 5, carriageway closure and slip road closures for Parapet replacement works, diversion via TFL and local authority roads.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
