Barnet’s motorists will have four road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And three of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing holdups of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• A1, from 10pm August 15th to 5.30am September 2nd, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1 southbound, junction Rowley Lane to junction Bignells Corner, Lane closure for Urgent TFL structural maintenance.

And a further three closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• A1, from 10pm September 5th to 5.30am September 6th, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 to junction 5, carriageway closure for Parapet replacement works, diversion via Local Authorities roads.

• A1, from 11pm September 6th to 6am September 7th, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 5 to junction 1, Lane closures, slip road closures and carriageway closure for Parapet replacement works, diversion via local authority and TFL roads.

• A1, from 10pm September 9th to 6am September 14th, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 to junction 5, Carriagway cand slip road closuefor resurfacing, diversion via TFL roads.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
