Barnet’s motorists will have two road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And one of them is expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• A1, from 10pm August 15 to 5.30am September 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1 southbound, junction Rowley Lane to junction Bignells Corner, Lane closure for Urgent TFL structural maintenance.

And one more closure will begin over the next two weeks:

• A1, from 10pm August 19 to 5.30am August 23, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 5 to junction 1, Lane closures, slip road closures and carriageway closures for testing works, diversion via local authority and TFL roads.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
