Hospice boss jumping out of plane to mark 40 years of charity

Supporters of North London Hospice are being invited to join boss Declan Carroll in a fundraising skydive

To mark the 40th anniversary of North London Hospice the charity’s boss is planning to jump out of a plane – and is inviting supporters to join him.

What began as a modest care home service in 1984, with only two staff and its premises comprising a small bedroom in a first floor Muswell Hill flat, has grown to house a purpose-built inpatient unit in Finchley and an outpatient, wellbeing and community service hub in Winchmore Hill with a combined 240 staff caring for more than 3,500 patients plus their loved ones every year.

To celebrate the charity’s 40th anniversary, a ‘skydive day’ is being held in September. Supporters can jump at the opportunity to take on a 10,000ft tandem skydive and create an “incredible memory” while raising essential funds to support North London Hospice patients facing life-limiting illness.

Skydivers will join experienced instructors from Skyline, alongside other adrenaline-seeking fundraisers at Sibson Airfield, near Peterborough. Among them will be North London Hospice CEO Declan Carroll.
