Drivers in and around Barnet will have four National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And two of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing waits of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that four closures are due to start over the next two weeks:

• A1, from 10pm July 8 to 6am July 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A1(M) northbound, junction 1 to junction 3, Lane closures, slip road closure and carriageway closure for concrete repair works, diversion via National Highways and local authority roads.

• M1, from 11pm July 19 to 5am July 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 2 to junction 1, Lane closures for removal of signs.

• A1, from 9pm July 20 to 11am July 21, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 to junction 3, carriageway closure and slip road closures for waterproofing and surfacing works, diversion via TFL roads.

• M1, from 9.30am to 11am on July 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 2 to junction 3, Lane closures for waterproofing works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
