Barnet Council is consulting on road safety measures in response to residents’ concerns
Barnet Council are looking to introduce measures to reduce the speed of vehicles in Torrington Park and the surrounding area in response to the concerns of residents.
The council is proposing a new 20mph zone covering 25 roads in Torrington Park and the surrounding area.
Other proposed measures include the introduction of speed cushions on various local roads; raised speed tables, build outs and carriageway narrowing in places to reduce vehicle speed; uncontrolled crossing points at side roads; introduction of horizontal deflections, carriageway narrowing and surface colour/texture treatment on Torrington Park; and; introduction of double yellow lines (no waiting at any time) on localised sections of the roads.
The council is currently holding a consultation on these changes, which closes on 20th June 2024.
Further details of the consultation, including ways to submit views, can be found at the Barnet Council website: https://engage.barnet.gov.uk/torrington-park-and-surrounding-area-consultation
