GROW, next to Totteridge Academy, hopes to raise £5,000 to celebrate five years of farming and teaching
High Barnet’s agroecological farm and outdoor learning hub GROW has announced a fundraising appeal to raise £5,000 to celebrate their five years in the community
Established in 2019 in what was an empty field next to The Totteridge Academy, GROW has been working towards a model for how schools and farms can work together to create resilient local food systems, enhance learning and well-being, reach meaningful sustainability goals, and strengthen community.”
GROW is asking the community to make a donation towards their target of £5,000 to support their ongoing programmes and projects.
The fundraising target campaign is linked with their celebratory event taking place on the GROW Farm, Barnet Lane, on Sunday 9th June between 10am and 2pm. Attendees can expect nature based activities, food, games, farm tours, cake and the opportunity to buy fresh produce grown on the Farm.
GROW farm inspires students’ educational work, delivering sustainable food growing and outdoor learning programmes for children, young people, and families who experience barriers to learning, healthy living, and employment.
Lucy Hollis from We Are Grow said: “We’re delighted to be celebrating five years in the community and we look forward to welcoming people from across Barnet to join our party in June. I also encourage our supporters to make a donation to our ‘£5,000 for 5 years campaign’ which will enable us to further support the families, community and young people with our programmes, produce and volunteering. We would like to thank everyone who has been a part of the GROW story so far, it means so much to us.”
