The consultation ends on 17th March 2024

Barnet Council is seeking views on the network of on-street electric vehicle charging points that the council is rolling out in partnership with Trojan Energy.
In June 2024, the Council’sagreed to award a 15-year contract to Trojan Energy for the supply, installation, maintenance and operation of 793 non-lamp column electric vehicle (EV) charge points.
The consultation page states: “Our commitment to a cleaner, greener future drives everything we do, and we believe EVs are the wheels to get us there. Trojan HUB offers a low clutter solution, which makes EV charging accessible to all residents; by providing up to 15 chargers per HUB it ensures there is always a charger available when you need it.”
The findings will be used to map demand for EV charge points, and inform their future delivery. The results will also be fed into the council’s forthcoming EV Infrastructure Strategy and inform the recommendations that arise from it.
There were 381 publicly available electric vehicle charging devices in Barnet as of October 2024 up 15% from 330 charging devices in October of the previous year.
In September, residents of The Drive, High Barnet, voiced some concerns about plans to install electric vehicle charging points on their street.
Residents can submit their views at the Barnet Council website here: https://engage.barnet.gov.uk/future-delivery-of-ev-charge-points
The consultation closes on 17th March 2024.
