Up to twenty Barnet change makers nominated by 14th December will feature in a new artwork

Public nominations are open for a new artwork which will feature people who have made a valuable contribution to Barnet through the fields of art, architecture, culture, music, design, industry and commerce.
The project is looking for up to twenty historical figures who reflect the creativity, innovation and diversity of the borough and showcase its rich heritage, from un-sung heroes through to those with global acclaim.
Nominations must fall into one, or both, of the following categories:
A person whose life experience of Barnet significantly informed and inspired their work or creative practice in the fields of art, architecture, culture, music, design, industry or commerce who was born, grew up or lived in the area.
A person whose important work in art, architecture, culture, music, design, industry or commerce significantly contributed to the borough who was born elsewhere and brought their talents to Barnet later in life.
Barnet residents can put forward nominations, from which up to twenty Barnet heroes will be chosen by a selection panel.
Nominations close at midnight on 14th December 2023, and should be submitted via this form.
The project is a partnership Barnet Council and Create, an organisation that commissions art and architecture in the public realm.Questions about this project should be directed to [email protected] with the subject line ‘Barnet nominations’.
