Last weekend saw five football teams either based in or with their roots in Barnet return to action following the summer break.

Barnet FC kicked off their National League campaign with a 3-2 victory over Hartlepool United. Adebola Oluwo, Nicke Kabamba and Danny Collinge were on target for the Bees.

Edgware and Kingsbury were in action in the Extra Preliminary Round of the FA Cup against Waltham Abbey on Friday. The game ended in a 1-1 draw and the replay takes place this evening.

Hendon, who like Edgware and Kingsbury, play their home games at Silver Jubilee Park in Kingsbury, started their Southern League Premier Division South campaign with a 3-1 home win over Sholing. Joe White, Hamza Semakula and Shaun Lucien scored for the Greens.

Two teams based within the borough of Barnet, Hadley FC of Southern League Division One Central and Wingate & Finchley of the Isthmian League Premier Division, met each other in their final pre-season friendly, with the game ending in a 1-1 draw.
