Barnet’s motorists will have six road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And one of them is expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing a holdup of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that six closures are due to start over the next two weeks:

• M1, from 10pm July 27th to 5am July 28th, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 2 to junction 1, Lane closure for ERT investigation.

• M1, from 10pm August 1st to 5.30am August 2nd, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 2 to junction 1, Lane closures for Joint investigation works.

• M1, from 10pm August 2nd to 5.30am August 3rd, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 2 to junction 1, Lane closures for joint investigation works.

• M1, from 10pm August 2nd to 5am August 12th, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 2 to junction 4, Lane closures for barrier repairs.

• M1, from 10pm August 2nd to 5.30am August 3rd, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 to junction 2, Lane closures for joint investigation works.

• M1, from 10pm August 5th to 5.30am August 7th, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 to junction 4, slip road closure and carriageway closure for resurfacing works, diversion via TFL roads.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads are not included in their schedule.
