A house in Brent Cross was destroyed by fire yesterday morning.

Around 40 firefighters tackled the blaze in the two-storey terraced house on Whitefield Avenue after being called to the property just before 9.15am. 

The fire was brought under control by 10.15 and a woman was taken to hospital by ambulance, suffering from smoke inhalation. 

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
