Drivers in and around Barnet will have three National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And two of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing holdups of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures are due to start over the next two weeks:

• M1, from 10pm June 29th to 6am July 1st, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 to junction 4, carriageway and entry slip road closures for resurfacing works. Diversion via A41,A1,A41 Watford By Pass to junction 4 HA_DR63.

• M1, from 10pm June 29th to 5am June 30th, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 4 to junction 2, Lane closure for CAT1 safety fence repair.

• M1, from 10pm July 10th to 6am July 22nd, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 5 to junction 1, carriageway and lane closure for surfacing works, diversion via Local authorities.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads are not included in their schedule.
