Driving Aid to Ukraine an N2 NGO set up to transport aid to Ukraine and one of our main partners, the charity British Ukrainian Aid, are holding an exciting cinema evening in July.

The screening of Kyiv Unbroken will take place on July 20th at the Phoenix Cinema in East Finchley.

Event running order:

In the award winning Kyiv Unbroken (2017, dir. Phil Strongman, run time 94 min, languages: English, Ukrainian & russian), you willl discover the artists that mushroomed in Ukraine since the Maidan’s Revolution of Dignity 2014 and its continuing influence on painters, photographers, sculptors, musicians & film-makers in both Ukraine and the whole of Europe. You’ll learn about the artistic shockwaves that have followed to this day – all in the midst of a country at war, fighting for its freedom.

Phil Strongman has worked in design, communication, film and books. His Ukrainian documentaries Kyiv Unbroken and Interview with a Deadman have won awards internationally while his Anarchy! McLaren Westwood Gang film was broadcast nationwide on Sky Arts in 2017. His books include Fear & Loathing in Ukraine, Metal Box, Cocaine, Pretty Vacant and John Lennon: Life Times & Assassination.
