Barnet road closures: six for local drivers this week

Drivers in and around Barnet will have six National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And four of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways – the agency responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads – shows that six closures are due to start this week:

• M1, from 10pm May 3 to 5am May 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 4, Lane closure for drainage inspections.

• M1, from 10pm May 9 to 5.30am May 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 to junction 2, Lane closures for boundary fence works.

• M1, from 10pm May 10 to 5am May 11, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 3, entry slip road closure for CAT 1 safety fence repair works, diversion via, junction 5 and return.

• A1, from 10pm May 13 to 5am May 14, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 southbound, junction London Gateway Services to junction 1, exit slip road and lane closures for barrier repair works, diversion via local authority network.

• M1, from 10pm May 15 to 5.30am May 26, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 to junction 2, carriageway closure and entry slip road closures for inspections, diversion via TFL roads.

• M1, from 10pm May 15 to 5.30am May 26, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 4 to junction 1, carriageway closure, lane closures and entry slip road closures for urgent surveys, diversion via TFL roads.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
