Barnet’s motorists will have three road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And two of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing holdups of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways – the agency responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads – shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• A1, from 10pm April 18 to 5am April 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A1(M) northbound, junction 1 to junction 3, carriageway closure, entry slip road closure and lane closures for maintenance works, diversion Via National Highways and local authority roads.

• M1, from 10pm April 22 to 5.30am April 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 to junction 2, Lane closures for structural works.

And one more closure will begin over the next seven days:

• M1, from 10pm April 24 to 6am April 29, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 to junction 4, carriageway closure and entry slip road closures for resurfacing works, diversion via TFL roads.
