Road closures: almost a dozen for Barnet drivers this week

Drivers in and around Barnet will have 10 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

Drivers in and around Barnet will have 10 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And three of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• A1, from 10pm January 23 to 6am February 11, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 2, entry slip road closure and lane closures for concrete repairs, diversion via TFL roads.

And a further nine closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M1, from 9.30am to 4pm on February 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction London Gateway Services to junction 4, Hard shoulder closure for a CAT 1 boundary fence repair.

• M1, from 10pm February 6 to 5am February 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction London Gateway Services to junction 2, Lane closures for CAT 1 carriageway repairs.

• M1, from 10pm February 6 to 5.30am February 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 to junction 2, Lane closures for bearing investigations.

• M1, from 10pm February 8 to 6am February 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 3 to junction 1, Lane closures for concrete repairs.

• M1, from 10pm February 13 to 5.30am February 17, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 1 to junction 4, carriageway closure and entry slip road closures for defect surfacing works, diversion via TFL roads.

• M1, from 10pm February 13 to 5am February 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 4 to junction London Gateway Services, Lane closure for sign maintenance.

• M1, from 10pm February 14 to 5am February 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 4 to junction London Gateway Services, Lane closures for barrier repairs.

• M1, from 10.30pm February 18 to 5am February 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 2 to junction London Gateway Services, Lane closures and service slip road closure for Surfacing works within the Services, diversion via main exit slip road into the services.

• M1, from 10pm February 20 to 5am February 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 2 to junction London Gateway Services, Lane closure due to off network works on A41 overbridge.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
