65 more coronavirus cases diagnosed in Barnet

The number of recorded coronavirus cases in Barnet increased by 65 over the bank holiday weekend, official figures show.

The number of recorded coronavirus cases in Barnet increased by 65 over the bank holiday weekend, official figures show.

Public Health England figures show that 30,182 people had been confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19 by 9 am on Tuesday 6th April in Barnet, up from 30,117 at the same time on Thursday.

The health body is now including Pillar Two tests – those carried out by commercial partners – alongside Pillar One tests, which are analysed in NHS or PHE laboratories and which made up the first stage of the government’s mass testing programme.

The rate of infection in Barnet now stands at 7,624 cases per 100,000 people, higher than the England average of 6,780.

Across the UK, the number of recorded cases increased by 7,748 over the period, to 4,364,529.

Barnet’s cases were among the 713,153 recorded across London, a figure which rose by 1,275 over the period.

Cumulative case counts include patients who are currently unwell, have recovered and those that have died.
